
Background
TRIUMPH was initiated in 2008 as a Christian Family Initiative in Mental health a small mutual peer support group of 8 individuals or champions within Jinja municipality who began reaching out to other affected families voluntarily as need arose using the local resources within their families and communities.
Gradually more support groups were started in other parts of the district The program continued to grow and impact many within local communities in the district without any external funding or support. The key was the emphasis laid on mutual human recognition, Love, support and focus of the founders on internally generated community solutions, Group cohesiveness and togetherness was preferred over big leaders and members who are not committed to the cause of pursuing the dignity of many.
The founders of TRIUMPH are seasoned Ugandans practicing mental health, community education, disability professionals with a passion in HUMAN RIGHTS and inclusive Development and are spread in many regions of Uganda where they provide technical and advisory services to Human rights value chain actors at various nodes.
TRIUMPH has a multi-disciplinary team of dedicated, experienced, competent and highly skilled personnel comprising of Academicians, Teachers, Law and policy makers,Agronomists, Plant Pathologists, Agribusiness Specialists, Research Scientists,Statisticians, Social Scientists, Business Development Specialists, Records Officers,M&E Specialists and Information Technology Specialists among others and can deliver quality results for the benefit of many and national sustainable development whenever given opportunity and Barriers removed for Inclusion.

Who we Are
Triumph Uganda Mental Health Support and Recovery Program (TRIUMPH) is a registered CBO with the Jinja District Local Government since February 2016, reg. No. JJA/02/2016/00427., growing and enlarging due to the call from other parts of Uganda and beyond, has also acquired legal status at National level in 2020 as TRIUMPH MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT Ltd (TRIUMPH) is limited by guarantee registered with URSB as Triumph Mental Health Support Ltd (TRIUMPH).
TRIUMPH is a purely indigenous organization founded by experts of experience (young people and adults with lived experience of mental health challenges) who have walked the mental health recovery journey with disabilities in Uganda.And is now
Vision : “Society that fully includes persons with psychosocial disabilities”
Mission: To contribute to the process of enhancing recovery, building resilience and investing in social networks for inclusion of persons with psycho social disabilities
Goal:“Empowered society that includes persons with psychosocial disabilities for productive and independent living”.with the overall aim of contributing to the sustainable transformation of society.
This is is driven by trans-formative shifts of the global development agenda 2030. “Leave no one behind”. This slogan waves a blue flag for the full recognition of the marginalized groups like girls and women, including those with mental health problems and disability, in any development agenda.

TRIUMPH upholds values of Love, Professionalism, Integrity, Client People centered approach, holistic care, Respect of diversity, Inclusiveness and Team work while serving her clients.

Why We exist
The intention was to use our life experiences to demonstrate love, care, support, inspiring hope in families and mitigate stigma and discrimination at all levels.
The main focus is on Girls and Women but with active men involvement, this is aimed at improving human development indicators for persons with mental health issues and psycho social disabilities across all ages who have for long been marginalized by society.
TRIUMPH has emerged to a Women led and women driven organization committed to enhancing social-economic as well as political and cultural development of persons with mental health issues and psycho social disabilities across all ages and at all levels alongside the government of Uganda and other development partners in the country.
TRIUMPH cherishes the active and meaningful participation and involvement of persons with disabilities on equal basis with others and allowing the Reasonable Accommodation to meet their diverse specific needs. This to realize their heart cry
“NOTHING ABOUT US WITHOUT US” and the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of persons with disabilities(UNCRPD)
